Overview

A new benchmark

Featherweight class, heavyweight punch.

A replacement for the Kawasaki Ninja 300, the new Ninja 400 features a host of improvements that make the bike a leader in its class. A featherweight tubular chassis uses the engine as a stress member, adding to the rigidity while saving tremendous amounts of weight, at only 168kg wet this motorcycle is a true featherweight, in fact it is 1kg lighter than its predecessor. On the other hand it does increase the capacity of the engine from the 300 to 400cc adding respectable 6bhp (From 38 to 44) and very impressive 11nm of torque (From 27 to 38). Making the Z400 a fantastic and endlessly fun package.

Concept

Track Inspired

Undeniable Ninja heritage.

Kawasaki proudly introduces a new sport model into this highly competitive arena. Clad in sharp Ninja styling, the Ninja 400 delivers greater performance than its predecessor care of all-new engine and chassis that are more powerful and significantly lighter. But like the Ninja 300 that preceded it, this new Ninja model possesses much more than high performance. Not only does the Ninja 400 offer stunning, high-quality looks, its stronger engine performance, light, predictable handling and relaxed, sporty riding position make it both fun and easy to ride.

Design

The Ninja Philosophy

Beauty in technology.

The Ninja design philosophy is strongly utilised throughout the bike. Unmistakable stance of the bike that brings to mind the mighty Ninja H2 and the excellent Ninja ZX6R 636. In addition, in line with the rest of the Ninja motorcycles, sharp lines of the fairings are complemented by stunning KRT livery on display for those who truly appreciate the beauty that comes from Kawasaki mechanical excellence.

Engine

Unmistakable heartbeat

Legendary Kawasaki twin cylinder engine.

The noise of a 90 degree crank, twin cylinder, dual overhead cam, four stroke Kawasaki engine is unmistakable to all enthusiasts of motorcycling. Tried, tested and loved by many powerplant is at the centre of the new bike design. Increased performance comes from extra 100cc of engine capacity which allows the bike to pass through the rigorous Euro4 emissions limits while at the same time boosting the mid and low end performance significantly. Making for smoother and more usable power delivery.
