Making the power is one thing, cutting through the air is an entirely different one. KHI have invested heavily into the aerodynamics of this all new model. The Kawasaki ZX10R now features “winglets that are built within the bodywork of the bike. Both front and rear have very specific task, the front increases downforce by some 17% while the rear creates a negative pressure zone behind the bike.
The Electronics have moved on considerably and are communicated to the rider through a very clear full colour TFT dash which can be linked to a smart phone using the Kawasaki Rideology App. This is a superbike that offers it all. Cruise control!!, heated grip ready and with highly illuminating LED lights all round. Rider modes are selectable between Sport, Road, Rain or Rider (Manual).
Although chassis remains relatively unchanged which would seem sensible considering the huge success that this bike has had at racing levels, the Kawasaki ZX10R has seen enormous changes brought directly from the racing development. The most noticeable is the first introduction of Showa’s “Balance Free Forks” – this is a first for the utilisation of these race level forks on a mass production motorcycle.
The latest generation Ninja ZX10R was built upon decades of experience in Superbike manufacturing. Sculpted with the extensive use of wind tunnel testing and computer design. This machine is a pinnacle of the decades of Ninja development. From the instantly recognisable bodywork to a large RAM air scoop on the front, racing DNA oozes from this bike. Sharp lines are accentuated through the stunning 2 liveries.
The updated Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is the first non-supercharged mass production Kawasaki to be granted permission to hold the iconic Kawasaki River-Mark.
Beating Heart of the Ninja
Powerful track weapon, sophisticated and easy to ride on the road.
At the centre of the ZX10R design was its 998cc inline four engine. The Ninja ZX-10R’s engine balances its stunning power with manageability and facilitated getting back on the gas, by moving peak torque higher up in the rpm range. The new engine maintains this essential character, but offers a stronger low-mid range for increased acceleration, coming out of corners. It is also a cleaner powerplant, meeting the stringent Euro 5 emissions regulations.
Light-Handling Chassis
World Superbike DNA
Complementing the highly acclaimed stability of the 2019 model, updates to the chassis geometry contribute to increased cornering performance and light handling.
Maximum downforce
Rocket for the road
Winglets built into the upper cowl generate downforce that helps keep the front wheel on the ground during strong acceleration.
A new icon
The true champion
In recognition of its achievement in the Superbike World Championship, special permission to use the River Mark on the Ninja ZX-10R was granted. This is its first use on a nonsupercharged mass-production model.
Updated rider positioning
Track style
Updated handlebar and footpeg positions contribute to a more aggressive, circuit-focused riding position, while a new seat design helps riders minimise drag when tucked behind the windshield going down the straight.
