Engine

Top performance

998cc Desmosedici Stradale R evolution

Reasoning behind the evolution

Evolved to meet Euro 5+

To meet Ducati Corse requirements for the WSBK Championship homologation

To make the engine ever closer to that of racing bikes

Evolution in details

New exhaust camshafts with different cam profiles

New exhaust system lay-out

New intake system

New lighter pistons

New connecting rods with shot peened big end diameter

New crankshaft with increased inertia

Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG) with Ducati Neutral Lock

New water and oil radiators.

Chassis

Improved track-feeling

Man & Machine As One

New chassis to meet Ducati Corse requirements

Front Frame with optimized stiffness

Reduced lateral stiffness by -40% to generate grip and feel while leaning

Tire grip is maximized at great lean angle unlocking maximum corner speed

Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm

 The benefits

An evident sensation of compactness

Exceptional stability when exiting curves

A natural tendancy to close the line

Superior mechanical grip, and greater traction

Reduced lateral stiffnessby –37% vs single-sided swingarm

+16mm/+0.6in longer vs single-sided swingarm to rebalance the greater longitudinal thrusts due to the greater rear mechanical grip

Monolithic chain tensioners keep the rear wheel in place during disassembly and reassembly

Lighter rear end

-3.2kg/-7lb thanks to new rear wheel assembly

more grip, as the wheel follows the road surface more accurately

Aerodynamics

Smaller - Lighter

Less Resistance

The aerodynamic package has been revised with a view to greater efficiency: MotoGP derived corner sidepods

The first time on a street legal sportbike

The Panigale V4R is the first ever street legal bike to use the MotoGP-derived corner sidepods

Corner side pods work when bike is leaning

Unlike wings, which are more effective when the bike is upright, the corner side-pods, are aerodynamic devices designed to work close to the ground when the bike is cornering

Ground effect generators

The interaction with the ground generates the ground effect, which is exploited to generate a system of aerodynamic forces that allow higher cornering speeds, which translates into lower laptime

Unprecedented riding feeling

When riding at high speed with lean angles above 40°, the rider immediately perceives that as the bike reaches the apex at maximum lean, it naturally drifts toward the inside, tightening the line without requiring any rider input. As a result, the exit phase and subsequent acceleration follow a cleaner, tighter trajectory.

Brand new highly efficient wings

Dual-profile wings

The wings feature two elements, the main and the flaps eparated by the split and joined at the end by a large end plate.

The wings are perfectly integrated in the front fairing

+20mm/+0.8 in wider (each wing) vs PanigaleV4’s wings

bigger and more efficient end plate vs PanigaleV4’s wings

please note the wings are wider than those of the Lamborghini version

Higher vertical load vs PanigaleV4, the same drag

higher vertical load

+25% @ 270 km/h

+4,8kg/+10.6lb @ 270 km/h

+6kg/+13lb @ 300 km/h

Electronics

Race-Oriented Electronics

Dependable, Functional Develpoment

The greater effectiveness of the new Panigale V4 R in circuit use is also obtained thanks to the adoption of all the electronic evolutions already introduced on the Panigale V4 ’22 and ’23, with the expansion and evolution of the Power Modes, new “Track Evo” display on the dashboard, engine maps with calibration dedicated to each single gear, refinements to the Ducati Traction Control and the Ride By Wire system, but also the adoption of the Engine Brake Control EVO 2 strategy, the new strategy for the DQS and the cooling fan control update.

All New Grip Meter

How much grip do you really have?

Available in race mode only

Ground breaking Grip Level Meter function

The Grip Level Meter supports the rider in the search for maximum performance

It graphically returns the estimation of tires grip levels (Low, Medium, High) available at that moment

It helps the rider to understand and evaluate the track conditions and provides useful indications to decide when it is time to fit new tires

For track use only

Designed to perform at its best under highly repeatable conditions, the Grip Level Meter is for track use only and requires the installation of Ducati DAVC Race Pro software

Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG)

The first ever among street legal sportbikes

Under Ducati Patent

Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG)

The first ever among street legal sportbikes

The new Panigale V4R is the only one street legal sport bike to feature a racing gearshift pattern (Neutral below I gear)
and to have the Neutral selection locked while riding

The Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG)

Like for racing bikes the position of the Neutral is below the I gear instead of between the I and II

Benefits vs street gearshift pattern

It prevents unwanted shifts into Neutral in downshifting (from II to I) when entering curves to be taken in I gear

It increases full throttle upshifting fluidity f rom I to II

It increases upshifting repeatability from I to II

It features a mechanic system named Ducati Neutral Lock (DNL) that locks the Neutral selection to prevent unwanted shifts into Neutral in downshifting from I gear.

Ducati Neutral Lock (DNL)

Located in the engine block

It blocks the gear shift drum from rotating into Neutral from I gear

It is disabled by pressing the release lever positioned on the right-handclip – on the handlebar

To engage Neutral, the rider must perform the same maneuvers that the official Moto GP and Superbike riders do.

With I gear engaged – pull the clutch lever, press the Neutral release lever, select Neutral with the gearshift pedal, release the clutch lever and the Neutral release lever

From the Neutral position – I gear engages normally without the need to press the Neutral release lever

Ducati patent

The DNL is patented by Ducati

It is derived from the system already used by Ducati Corse. It differs for a smoother, operation with reduced play.
