Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is the dedicated homologated bike, purpose built for racing and in numbers sufficient to allow for an entry into World Superbike Championship. For 2021 they’re limited to 500 units. This bike features all the latest technology and solutions Kawasaki Racing Team co-develops for their race machine. The engine sees extensive use of titanium sub components, allowing for higher redline and less weight. Electronics and suspension are also more fine tuned for racing purposes. Built in winglets for added downforce and ultra lightweight Marchesini wheels for raxor sharp turning. Aimed for the racetrack but with a chance to factory pre-order for delivery from May 21 onwards.
World beating Ninja
Serious track weapon
This is one serious competitor. Equipped as standard with special light-weight Marchesini wheels plus Brembo M50 front calipers, the Ninja ZX-10RR takes no prisoners. Get closer and you’ll find a modified cylinder head and crankcases, plus an up and down quick-shifter. For 2021 only 500 numbered units are available worldwide which are all fitted with titanium connecting rods, these contribute to the increased power to 214 PS (with Ram Air). The track calls and the Ninja ZX-10RR listens.
Function followed by form.
No compromise on performance.
The latest generation Ninja ZX-10RR was built upon decades of experience in Superbike manufacturing. Sculpted with the extensive use of wind tunel testing and computer design, this machine is the pinnacle of decades of Ninja development. From the instantly recognisable bodywork, to a large RAM air scoop on the front of the bike, the racing DNA oozes from this bike. Sharp lines are accentuated through stunning Kawasaki Green livery, which further highlight the bikes racing pedigree. RR models also features light and beautiful Marchesini Forged wheels. The new bodywork design of the Kawasaki ZX10RR with its built in wiglets, really gives noticeable, additional downforce, improving the ability to really lay the power down. See the video post, early testing with Jonathon Rea.
Beating heart of the Ninja
Powerful track weapon, sophisticated, comfortable and easy to ride on the road.
At the centre of the ZX-10RR design, was its 998cc inline four engine. A change to finger-follower valve actuation and other updates, increase the Ninja ZX-10RR’s engine performance. Peak horsepower is higher, which can easily be augmented, care of a full race exhaust. However, the changes benefit performance across the rev range, delivering increased power at all rpm, an advantage for racers as well as World Superbike teams. The changes essentially raise the flat torque curve of the previous model, so the Ninja ZX-10RR’s easy-to-use character is maintained while offering increased power. Complementing the new finger-follower valve actuation, the Ninja ZX-10RR features special Pankl High-Performance Parts. Complementing the lofty power offered by the standard WSB-inspired Ninja ZX-10R engine, the Ninja ZX-10RR features special high-performance titanium connecting rods and lightweight pistons designed by Pankl. These high-performance parts, which contribute approximately 500g in weight savings, were developed specifically for the Ninja ZX-10RR and enable the Ninja ZX-10RR’s rev limit to be increased from 14,300 to 14,700, raising the rev limit not only moves the powerband 500 min-1 higher, it enables an even wider powerband, strengthening the Ninja ZX-10RR’s easy-to-use character. The changes also contribute to improved engine response.
Pankl are a company specialising in developing and manufacturing engine and drivetrain components for formula race cars, high performance vehicles and the aerospace industry.
