The Ducati DesertX Rally will for many conjure up images of the Ducati powered Cagiva Elephant of old. That is where the similarities end…. Designed and built using the latest cutting edge technology, the Ducati DesertX Rally offers the widest range of uses of any Ducati built to date. Very much at home on the roads, the DesertX Rally also offers the capability of letting out your more adventurous side. The 21″/18″ wheel combination gives the Ducati DesertX Rally the ability to tackle the most rugged of terrains.
With 6 pre-set rider modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally all of which get differing levels of power, traction, wheelie control and ABS, that can all be custom tailored to suit your own requirements.
Now with a 4 year factory warranty valid Europe wide – What’s not to like!
Ducati really wanted to broaden its audience for the DesertX. Seat height at 910mm and long travel suspension ensure excellent ground clearance remains available.
The Ducati DesertX Rally offers an upright riding position with considerably more leg room for added comfort and maneuverability when riding out of the seat. The steering angle makes low speed maneuvering a doddle.
The electronic package can be extended with the addition of the Ducati Multimedia system that allows Bluetooth pairing to your smartphone, allowing for calls, notifications, music management and for the addition of turn by turn sat nav guidance. All lights / indicators are Full LED.
The volumes, silhouette, tank and headlight characterise the design of the original Cagiva Elephant and remain true to the original lines of the bike born over 3 decades ago, while revisiting them with a modern flair.
The 21 litre tank offers exceptional range, however there is scope to add an additional 8 litre tank (which is another accessory item that is available) to ensure that the Ducati DesertX can explore the areas that others can only dream of.
The bodywork is unpainted & self coloured, to make any battle scars seem less evident. A heavy duty sticker kit aids in the protection of the panels and allows for easy customisation.
DesertX Rally is more focussed than ever on it's off road capabilities - 21 "front wheel and 18" rear, long stroke suspension and a new frame designed specifically for the off-road experience.
Testastretta 11° engine
Fluid delivery, full and increased torque curve
Thanks to high maximum power and torque values, fluid delivery and a full torque curve at all speeds, the new DesertX Rally’s Watercooled Testastretta 11° engine can guarantee performance and agility to the rider. 110 bhp, with 68 ft lb of torque, this powerplant oozes versatility.
Maintenance intervals – 9000 miles or bi-annual for oil service, 18,000 miles for valve clearance service. “Adventurous” intervals………
The Ducati DesertX Rally is also available for those with a restricted licence, as a version with 35 kW of regulated power. (Special Order)

Functionality On and Off Road
Designed for comfort
Much research went into the off-road capabilities and rider comfort under these arduous conditions. The surfaces in contact with the rider are large and well connected.
This allows rider movement in all directions with the highest level of comfort and control, especially in off-road riding.

The Complete Offroad Pack
The bike offers an additional 20mm of suspension travel, for a total of 250mm at the front and 240mm at the rear. Both the 48mm closed cartridge front fork and 46mm rear shock are produced in collaboration with KYB. DesertX Rally flaunts a technology used on MX and enduro bikes that guarantees homogeneous behaviour and the necessary support even during the most extreme use.

Lightweight, strong specialist rims
DesertX Rally is more efficient off-road thanks to wheels that are lighter and more technical, with machined from solid hubs, carbon steel spokes and high-resistance Takasago Excel rims.
The front wheel retains its 21”x2.15” size, while the rear is narrower than that of DesertX, measuring 18”x4”.
DesertX Rally is more efficient off-road thanks to its dedicated wheels, carbon sumpguard, and billet aluminium rear brake and gear level. It weighs the same as DesertX (just 1kg more), but the sensation is completely different.
LED All Round
Top & Tail
The bike’s completely Full LED lighting system is ocutting edge. The double front headlight has two bi-function polyellipsoidal modules with Daytime Running Light (DRL) and has been designed to ensure excellent visibility, which is particularly important for a bike that can ride in all conditions. The tail light is equipped with the Ducati Brake Light system. In the event of emergency braking, it automatically flashes to signal the condition of sudden slowing to following vehicles, making a further contribution to rider safety.
