Mad For Fun
Dedicated Sports Equipment
The Monster SP takes the 2022 colors of the official team’s Desmosedici GP, mounts Öhlins suspensions and Termignoni homologated silencer, Brembo Stylema® calipers and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires. True sporty equipment that will make you fall in love with the new Monster SP.
The all new Ducati Monster SP has been designed to embellish style with the Moto GP-inspired livery. Versatile usability is the ethos behind the changes that have been made. The dry weight of this new Ducati Monster has been pared down to a mere 166kg. Achieved with the use of a super lightweight cast and extruded aluminium monocoque frame (-4.5kg), its glass fibre reinforced polymer subframe (-1.9kg), lighter engine (-2.4kg), lightweight cast aluminium wheel rims (-1.7kg) and re-engineered rear swingarm (-1.6kg), the overall package finishes with a super light, super agile middleweight naked bike. Now for the plusses that make this Ducati Monster so sophisticated. Full colour TFT dash, LED lights all round (headlight features day time running light) including LED sweeping, self cancelling indicators, 2 x Ø 320 mm semi-floating aluminium flange discs, radially mounted Brembo Stylema® monobloc 4-piston calipers, and radial master cylinder. It has riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, launch control and an up & down quickshifter.
Ducati really wanted to broaden its audience for the Monster. Seat height starts at 840mm but can be increased to 850mm or reduced to 810mm with a couple of accessory options. The narrow seat and bodywork ensure that these seat heights translate into real benefits for the rider. The Ducati Monster now offers a more upright riding position with considerably more leg room for added comfort. Steering angle has increased massively, making low speed maneuvering a doddle. The 18kg in weight saving has ensured that the new Ducati Monster SP is in perfect harmony with the road, the new Monster SP is capable of conveying pleasant riding sensations, easy, confidence inspiring, whilst giving a thrill supported by advanced technology and the specially designed ergonomics of this model.
The volumes, silhouette, tank and headlight characterize the design of the Monster and remain true to the original lines of the bike born in 1993 while revisiting them with a modern flair from the 2022 colors of the official team’s Desmosedici GP. The iconic tank becomes more angular, other features such as the tail end becoming sharper, none the less, this is unmistakably Monster. Still maintaining that aggressive swagger that this iconic motorcycle has had for over 25 years.
The golden Öhlins NIX30 fork enhances the sporty look of the new Monster SP. Together with Termignoni's homologated silencer and Brembo Stylema® front calipers, they make up the valuable technical equipment capable of making the bike even lighter, more effective and fun in sporty riding, as well as more aesthetically appealing.
Testastretta 11° engine
Fluid delivery, full and increased torque curve
Thanks to high maximum power and torque values, fluid delivery and a full torque curve at all speeds, the new Monster’s Testastretta 11° engine can guarantee performance and agility to the rider. 111 bhp, with 69 ft lb of torque (which offers a 20% increase on the Monster 821 at 6000 rpm), this powerplant oozes versatility. Maintenance intervals – 9000 miles or annual for oil service, 18,000 miles for valve clearance service. “Monstrous” intervals………
The Monster is also available for those with a restricted licence, as a version with 35 kW of regulated power.
Euro 5 Compliant.
Frame
and Suspension
The Front Frame is inspired by that of the Panigale V4. Made of aluminum, it is 4.5 kg lighter than the Monster 821’s trellis frame, a 60 percent lightening that contributes to the bike’s overall lightness.
The fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, with the fork 0.6 kg lighter than that adopted on Monster and Monster +, increases the feel, as well as increasing ground clearance and consequently the lean angle.
Brembo Stylema
How fast can you stop?
The upgrading of the braking system with Brembo Stylema® calipers and aluminium flanges for the 320 mm front brake discs (0.5 kg lighter than the Monster equipment) makes the Monster SP more performing when braking, but, at the same time, more agile thanks to the reduction of inertia at the front.
Fully loaded with the latest rider aids
Its got it all
Standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, all adjustable to different levels of intervention. The sporty character of the new Monster is also emphasized by Launch Control, which ensures lightning-fast starts. This top-of-the-line motorcycle equipment allows the Monster to safely express its performance.
Ducati Traction control is an intelligent system that acts as a “filter” between the accelerator and the rear tire. The system allows a choice of eight different levels of intervention. The traction control levels are preset for each of the three Riding Modes, but can be customized to suit the rider and road characteristics, as well as for other electronic driving aid systems.
ABS Cornering aptly uses the signals from Bosch’s IMU platform to maximise balancing of the braking power delivered to the front and rear wheels even in critical situations and with the motorcycle in a leaning position. By interacting with the Riding Modes, the system is able to provide the ideal solution for every situation and riding condition according to rider’s preferences.
And – an Up and Down Quickshifter thrown in.
3 Ride Modes
Sport, Road and Wet Riding
Sport, Road and Wet Riding Modes allow you to mold the character of the Monster according to your tastes and needs. Everything is easily managed through the handlebar controls and the 4.3-inch color TFT dashboard.
