Design and Styling
The Z500 SE carries Kawasaki’s signature Sugomi design language—sharp, aggressive, and unmistakably bold. The SE version elevates this with exclusive graphics, a smoke-tinted meter cover, and LED turn signals. It also includes a pillion seat cover, frame sliders, tank pad, knee grip pads, and a radiator screen, giving it a more premium and purposeful look.
Engine and Performance
At its heart is a 451cc parallel-twin engine, a refined evolution of the proven Z400 platform. It produces 45.4 PS and 42.6 Nm of torque, tuned for smooth, predictable power delivery. The longer stroke improves low-end torque, making it more responsive in real-world riding conditions. Whether you’re commuting or carving through twisty roads, the Z500 SE offers a balanced mix of performance and control.
Technology and Features
The SE model includes a high-grade full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. This allows riders to sync their phone for call and message notifications, ride logs, and even maintenance reminders. A USB-C outlet is integrated into the headlight cowling for convenient charging on the go.
Comfort and Ergonomics
With a seat height of 785 mm and a slim profile, the Z500 SE is accessible to a wide range of riders. The upright riding position and wide handlebars promote relaxed control, while the lightweight trellis frame ensures nimble handling. The assist and slipper clutch reduces lever effort and prevents rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifting.
Braking and Safety
Braking is handled by a large 310 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, both equipped with ABS. The system has been upgraded for improved modulation and feedback, giving riders more confidence in varied conditions.
Rider Impressions
Early reviews praise the Z500 SE for its refined ride quality, responsive engine, and premium feel. Riders note that it feels like a larger bike in terms of presence and stability, yet remains light and manageable. It’s especially well-suited for A2 licence holders looking for a bike that won’t feel like a compromise.
