Ducati Superleggera V4
Excellence in engineering….
A Dream Comes True
Track riding abilities that so few will ever get to experience
Limited to only 500 units worldwide, the Ducat Superleggera V4 is the most powerful, the fastest and the most technologically advanced production Ducati ever. The bike also comes with a full titanium racing system that reduces weight even further whilst adding more power. To achieve the low weight goal, practically the complete chassis along with its bodywork is built from meticulously laid and reinforced carbon fibre – including the wheels. Exotic materials have been used throughout. The rear shock spring – Titanium. Internal engine parts – Titanium. The alloy components are all creafted from aircraft grade aluminium. Costs were not spared in the design and production of the exotic Superleggera V4.
The Racing Kit is the supplied configuration that gives the Superleggera V4 the unbeatable power/weight ratio of 1.54 kg. An exclusive set-up of ultra-light components and technologically advanced equipment, designed to give the rider the absolute thrill of the track.
If Money Were No Object
What a design brief!!
The original brief behind the design of the Superleggera (Superlight to us blighties) was – “If money was no object, what would you build”. So started the painstaking task of taking each and every component of the chassis, engine and bodywork and where possible producing these from the lightest material that was available and fit for the purpose. Right down to the re-machining of the Ohlins forks to reduce the amount of material left to its barest minimum. So much so that they have to be installed facing a particular way or they will be in danger of failing.
The end results are absolutely astounding – A final weight with the full system fitted of only 152.2 kg.
A Thing Of Beauty
The finished product would look at home in any art exhibition.
Co-developed by Ducati Corse and the Ducati Style Center, the Ducati Superleggera V4 aerodynamics package was developed further in order to ensure that it could cope with the additional power in such a light chassis.
From design to delivery, the Superleggera V4 reflects a meticulous attention to detail. In fact, the bike will be delivered to the customer in a wooden box with special graphics, designed specifically for the transport of this masterpiece.
New changes for top performances
Specially developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several torque delivery control settings.
The Ducati Superleggera V4 features new, specially developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several torque delivery control settings. Track-dedicated RbW mapping aligns rider demand with delivered torque more closely, resulting in smoother, more predictable throttle response.
All very necessary when you consider that the engine, which is the most powerful production engine that Ducati have ever produced delivers 234 hp in 152.2 kg chassis with the racing kit. An extraordinary power/weight ratio.
The Experience Of A Lifetime
A chance to try the most powerful of Ducati motorcycles in Mugello
Ducati and Ducati Corse offer all owners of the Superleggera V4 the chance to ride the most powerful production-derived bikes, starting with the brand new Panigale V4 then moving on to Superleggera V4 and ending the day on the Panigale V4 R of the SBK championship.
