Kawasaki Z900 & Z900 Performance – Further Refined Raw

The Kawasaki Z900 power plant originated closly from old Z1000 engine. Tried, tested and bulletproof motor. The chassis remains relatively unchanged, derived from the technological experience gained during the design and production of the mighty H2R giving Kawasaki the ability to tune the frame of the Z900 enhancing feedback to the rider.

New bike now comes with new TFT full colour dash, bluetooth connectivity to the Kawasaki Rideology app. Both are used to easily navigate and set up a new electronic rider assit suite. Those come in the form of 2 power modes, KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control) System and 4 modes which pre determine throttle delivery and level of intervention from electronic assists (Sport, Road, Rain and User).

The Kawasaki Z900 from head to tail remains unmistakably “Z”. The aggressive poised animalistic stance is recognisable across all new bikes in the Kawasaki “Z” family.

Further changes to the model include tweaks to the fuelling to provide smoother delivery, tweaks to the frame in order to enhance riding confidence and feedback from new Dunlop tires.

Want an exciting ride that will most certainly turn heads when you arrive? The Kawasaki Z900 will not disappoint. There has never been a better time to step into the family of “Zed”.

The Z900 Performance is enhanced with a taller sports screen, colour coded seat cowl and an Akrapovic exhaust.

Overview

Great leap forward

Following the punch.

The Kawasaki Z900 was a spectacular machine when it was released in 2017, it combined the best ingredients from many other Kawasaki models to form simply a sublime package. Frame inspired by the Kawasaki Ninja H2, powerful and torquey engine from Z1000SX sleeved down by 100cc for quicker revving, horizontal mounted rear shock inspired by the ZX10R. All those made Z900 a hoot to ride. Agile, fast and fun it was simply a joy to ride. Only thing missing on the first generation machine was addition of any electronics rider assists. And here is where the most significant changes were implemented.

Concept

Refined Raw

More precise, easier to ride and safer.

Updated for 2020, the Z900 maintains the “Exciting and Easy” concept of its predecessor, while offering the next step in aggressive Z Sugomi styling. A host of advanced new features appear including integrated Riding Modes (combining newly added KTRC and Power modes), new TFT colour instrument screen, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, all-LED lighting and cleaner emissions.

Design

Unmistakable stance

Manifestation of the Sugomi philosophy.

Heavily influenced by the brutal styling of the Z H2, Kawasaki Z900 follows the Sugomi philosophy perfectly. Its shape demands attention through its animalistic stance, low mounted headlight, sharp high tail resembles a big cat preparing to strike. Along with its sharp lines and all LED lighting, motorcycle looks modern and contemporary without sacrificing the clear Kawasaki “Z” family heritage.

Engine

Master of all.

Perfect balance of usability and performance.

Beating heart of the Kawasaki Z900 is the 948cc inline four cylinder engine, used on the Z1000, Z1000SX and the Versys 1000, but with reduced size by 100cc. This allowed for use of lighter engine components, resulting in faster revving yet significantly under-stressed powerplant. Kawasaki Z900 engine produces 123bhp at 9500 rpm and 98nm of torque at 7700rpm, making for a brilliant road bike engine, with very strong low and mid range torque, with plenty of top end thrills. Furthermore to ensure easy and pleasant operation, Kawasaki Assisted Slipper clutch is equipped on the Z900 making for a featherlight operation.
