Kawasaki Z900 & Z900 Performance Reborn – Refined Raw

The Kawasaki Z900 power plant is essentially a sleeved down Z1000 engine. Tried, tested and now less stressed than ever. The chassis comprises of a new steel trellis frame derived from the technological experience gained during the design and production of the mighty H2R giving Kawasaki the ability to tune the frame of the Z900 enhancing feedback to the rider.

The combination of the trademark Kawasaki petal discs and Bosch ABS braking system guarantees safe and consistent stopping power.

Overall the Kawasaki Z900 is some 20 Kg (3 Stone!) lighter than the Z1000 so the power to weight ratio that Kawasaki have achieved for the Z900 is awesome.

This sleek, lighter and lower chassis means that the Z900 will fit a much broader range of rider sizes but also results in a lower centre of gravity for the bike. Aided by the underslung pre-chamber of the exhaust pipe, the mass centralisation results in an exceptionally nimble and agile chassis that is a joy to push through the tightest of bends.

The Kawasaki Z900 from head to tail is unmistakably “Z”. The aggressive poised animalistic stance is typical of any of the bikes in the Kawasaki “Z” family. It’s family brand proudly lit up in the LED rear light. What you see gives you an idea of the type of ride you will experience when you throw your leg over the Z900. The surprise is how smooth and controllable this beast really is. Pussycat or raging Tiger? It’s all down to rider demands.

Want an exciting ride that will most certainly turn heads when you arrive? The Kawasaki Z900 will not disappoint. There has never been a better time to step into the family of “Zed”.

The Z900 Performance is enhanced with a taller sports screen, colour coded seat cowl and an Akrapovic exhaust.

The Kawasaki Z900 comes with a two year unlimited mileage warranty. Please talk to our staff to find out more about the factory warranty extension to four years that is available or have a look at the warranty tab on this page.

Exciting In-Line Four Engine

Powerful 948 cm3 liquidcooled, 4-stroke In-line Four engine has a quick-revving character and a strong midrange hit that pulls strongly to the redline. Adding to rider exhilaration, a distinct intake note encourages you to twist the throttle. Silky smooth power delivery facilitates control while contributing to rider comfort and confidence.

Die Cast Cylinders

Die-cast cylinder offers an ideal balance of weight and rigidity. Its open-deck design contributes to weight savings.

Induction Noise

Shape of the airbox was designed based on acoustic tests carried out in a sound room. The intake note of the Z900 is clear and mild. The frequency of the note varies with engine speed, adding to riding impact – especially at high rpm. Airbox inlet faces upwards, making the intake note easier to hear for the rider.

Slipper Clutch

Assist & Slipper Clutch was developed based on feedback from racing activities. The clutch uses two types of cams (an assist cam and a slipper cam), offering two functions not available on a standard clutch.

All New Trellis Frame

One of the key components to the new Z900’s light weight (noticeable as soon as the bike is lifted off its side-stand), the allnew frame weighs only 13.5 kg and contributes significantly to the bike’s light, nimble handling.

Suspension

ø41 mm inverted front fork features stepless rebound damping and spring preload adjustability in the left fork tube. Adjusters are conveniently located on the fork top cap.
Rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm. This arrangement contributes to mass centralisation, while ensuring that the suspension is located far enough from the exhaust that operation is not affected by heat.

Ergonomics For Control

With the wide, flat handlebar and relaxed, sporty riding position, the rider is easily able to capitalise on the Z900’s sporty street riding potential.
The riding position offers a blend of control and comfort that allows the rider to enjoy a variety of riding situations.

Low Seat Height

Thanks to the low seat height and the bike’s slim overall design, it’s easy to keep both feet firmly on the ground when stopped, an important consideration for many riders.
