The new Kawasaki Z1100 has jumped straight to the front of this highly competitive class. The distinctive Z concept has been furthered still by Kawasaki’s Sugomi design. The Kawasaki Z1100 has many upgrades with game-changing effects. High performance monoblock calipers are one of the most obvious additions to this stunning motorcycle. Radially mounted and matched to a radial pump master cylinder mate with the characteristic Kawasaki 30mm brake discs to deliver massive stopping power while also giving the rider great feedback. New big piston and separate function forks as fitted to the Kawasaki ZX6R are tuned for great feedback and an ability to cope every riding style and situation.
Sculpted bodywork brings the aggressive and unique sugomi inspired Z design to the next level, stripping off all unnecessary flourishes to boldly highlight brutal functionality. Enhancing the riding impact, the new engine and chassis settings deliver a stiffer, more direct ride transforming the Z1100 into the market’s most radical Supernaked.
Put simply the Sugomi philosophy – The Sugomi approach is conceived to be experienced by the rider in terms of the whole Z1100 riding experience both visually and in respect of engine character and chassis response. The front end is characterised by the stunning plunging headlamp cowl with its narrow aspect ultra-bright LED headlight clear Kawasaki “Z” family heritage. Even more characteristic is the Z Stance, the low headlight, muscular stocky body with high tail, all reminiscent of a big cat, stalking its prey.
A modernised range of versions, The Kawasaki Z1100 also offered in performance version is also available as an enhanced Z1100 SE and yes, you guessed it, a Z1100 SE Performance. Which one suits your needs?
Master of all.
Perfect balance of usability and performance.
At the heart of these new Z machines is a powerhouse 1,099 cm3 in-line four-cylinder 100.0 kW {136 PS} engine with optimised intake ports utilising increased displacement for better Low-Mid Range response delivering a maximum of 11.5 kgm of torque while achieving impressive fuel economy. Camshaft profiles, valve springs and even pistons have all been revised and each final gear ratio has been optimised with 5th and 6th gears even longer than previous litre class Z models.
Stiffer
Better
For the Z1100 models, a highly rigid aluminium twin-tube frame, SFF-BP forks and horizontal back-link suspension are at the core of both machines, while, in addition monobloc calipers are paired with large ø310 mm brake discs on the Z1100 to create a sharp, direct response to rider inputs, making every twist of the throttle a visceral experience.
