Great BSB Weekend for Kawasaki at Brands Hatch

With many choosing Kawsaki as their machine of choice in the British Superbike paddock, Kawasaki showed off their racing pedigree in all of the major races at Brands Hatch last weekend.

Kawasaki teams and riders dominated the BSB opening round at Brands Hatch with 2012 Champion Shane “Shakey” Byrne on top form on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.  Shadowing Josh Brookes in the early stages he moved at half race distance and then edged from Alex Lowes to take the chequered flag by just over a second to win his 42nd career British Superbike race victory.  He also took third in the second race which was won by James Ellison.

Shane Byrne said “It’s nice to get the first two races and pre-season nerves out of the way and to come away with a first and a third is a good start and I’m happy with how the day’s gone.”

In the Pirelli National Stock 600 Championship Kawasaki also triumphed with five Kawasaki ZX-6R machines finishing in the top ten .  In the Stock 1000 race an amazing seventeen of the top twenty riders were on a Kawasaki.

What a great place that puts Kawasaki for the next round at Thruxton in only a few days time on 12, 13, 14 April.

If you missed any of the action from last weekend, ITV4 is showing an hour long highlights programme from the BSB opening round at Brands Hatch from 8pm tonight.
