Who owns the Norton brand.

In 2020, TVS purchased the Norton brand name and have been planning and building for it's re-birth in 2026.

A bit about TVS Motors....

Production Capacity – 4.95 Million bikes per year

Turnover – 4.75 Billion USD

So far (2026), TVS have not sold into the UK market, however they have invested heavily.

After purchasing the Norton brand, TVS invested £200 Million into the UK, a new factory was built in Solihull, which within 5 years of being built has just been completely re-vamped in readiness for the UK production of the ALL New Norton Manx R and Manx models.

A further £250 Million is set aside for further investment in the brand over the next 5 years.

Yes, you calculted correctly, that’s a £450 Million investment into the UK to facilitate the UK manufacture of the two top halo models, for set up and to fund the distribution of the growing Norton range, not just in the UK, but to a global network of dealers.

The rest of the models that are due for the UK market will be produced by TVS in India, where they already produce for other well known and respected marques, such as BMW, Yamaha and Suzuki.

With the history, production capacity and technical knowledge held by this company and the diverse list of other companies that they now own, Norton UK have a wealth of knowledge, expertise and strength behind them.

Exciting times!!

So, let’s address the question many people still understandably have around Norton’s past.

There’s no denying the brand has been through a turbulent period over the last decade, and for many people that history is still front of mind. The challenges under previous ownership damaged confidence in the business and, understandably, left questions around Norton’s long-term stability and direction.

What’s important today is that Norton is now operating in a fundamentally different environment. Since becoming part of TVS Motor Company, the business has been rebuilt with long-term investment, industrial expertise and significantly stronger operational foundations behind it.
