Technical features of the Multistrada V4 are vast so here is a link to the Owners Manual for those that would like to learn more. In addition to this, Ducati have created an Interaction Experience so you can play with the switchgear “virtually” and see the effects on the bike/dash without being near the bike. Video tutorials can be found at the bottom of that page.
See also the “Reviews” tab to see what the press have to say.
Ducati Multistrada V4 “Best All-Rounder” in the 2021 MCN Awards along with Ducati getting the “Manufacturer of the year” accolade.
Pleasure of driving becomes a sense of well-being.
The optional radar positioned in the front of the vehicle controls the operation of the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), which by means of controlled braking and acceleration automatically adjusts the distance (selectable on four levels) from other vehicles when riding at a speed between 30 and 160 km/h. The system allows for more comfortable riding, especially on long motorway journeys.
The rear radar, on the other hand, is able to detect and report vehicles positioned in the so-called blind spot. The BSD (Blind Spot Detection) system also signals vehicles that are approaching at higher speed from behind potentially allowing for evasive action to be taken.
Add to that the ability to have an exceptional satellite navigation system displayed in the bike dashboard, the option of heated handlebar grips and seats to be factory fitted. A to B can be achieved easily, safely and in comfort.
New benchmark for quality and finishing standards.
The sleek surfaces, flowing design and volume difference between the front and rear remain the highly characteristic elements that in the new Multistrada V4 reach completely new quality and finishing standards. All of this combined with the much more compact and versatile new V4 engine has allowed for a massive leap forward in rider experience.
As we have grown to expect from Ducati, even the components that make up the engine are a thing of beauty. See the video
The heart is the strongest muscle
For the fourth generation of the Multistrada, Ducati developed a , light and compact V4 engine, designed to meet the needs required for “adventouring” use without neglecting emotion and sportiness.
The complete redesign made it possible to reach record-breaking maintenance intervals for the world of two wheels. Valve clearance intervals have been increased to 37,500 miles (One and a half times around the world) and oil change intervals are now 9,375 or every two years. Add to this the 4 year, Europe wide unlimited mileage warranty to give you the knowledge that this bike is truly built to do the distance.
The V4 Granturismo engine is both smaller and lighter than the previous L-twin 1260 Multistrada engine – 85mm shorter, 95mm height reduction with only 20mm increase in width (weight loss 1.2kg). This has meant that the compact layout allows more flexibility of the housing of the engine in the frame, more effectively and centrally to positively influence the position of the bike’s center of gravity. Add to this the proven benefits of the counter clockwise rotation of the crankshaft that works to negate the centrifugal forces of the wheels, aiding fast directional changes as well as reducing squat and helping to reduce front wheel lift.
The benefits offered by this engine plant are enormous. Not only in the vastly improved power delivery, but in chassis agility and not least the ongoing cost of maintenance – All delivered with 4 years peace of mind.

Safety and Electronics
The Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour benefits from the latest electronic advancements developed by Ducati. The Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) estimates the forces acting on the vehicle by simulating inputs from numerous virtual sensors, thereby improving the effectiveness of the electronic controls and refining the ABS Cornering and Ducati Wheelie Control strategies.
The advanced Electronic Combined Braking System manages brake distribution between the front and rear to ensure optimal performance based on riding conditions and load. The rider can also customise the Engine Brake Control level by choosing from three different intervention settings.
During emergency braking, the Ducati Brake Light EVO automatically activates the turn signals as well, enhancing the vehicle’s visibility to following traffic.
On the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, the inertial platform communicates continuously with the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) EVO system. Thanks to a new fork position sensor and predictive logic such as Bump Detection, the system adjusts suspension response in real-time based on road surface conditions, improving both comfort and riding precision.
The Auto-levelling function automatically detects the motorcycle’s load and maintains a consistent stance across various usage configurations. Riders can also adjust suspension response while riding by using a dedicated control on the left handlebar switchgear.
As with all motorcycles in the Multistrada V4 family, the Grand Tour is equipped with a phone-mirroring navigation system; this transforms the 6.5-inch TFT dashboard into a colour map-based navigator that also displays essential riding data.
Finally, smartphone mirroring capabilities—implemented via the Ducati Connect system—allow for simple, intuitive control of phone functions and music.

Go the distance with confidence
36,000 m: 1.5 times the earth’s circumference!!
This is the interval for checking valve clearance. This is the value that describes the robustness and durability of the Multistrada engine. A figure that for the rider means above all one thing: more time to enjoy in the saddle. And less money to spend!
The know-how developed on the desmodromic system, applied to the spring distribution, allows the valve clearance check interval to be extended to 36,000 m, compared to an industry average of 15,000 m, less than half.
Topped with a 4 year unlimited mileage, European wide factory warranty, you can share the confidence that Ducati have in this true globetrotting mile eater.
