Overview

The Middleweight Fight Formula

New Ducati super naked twin

The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 has been re-born. The true streetfighter pedigree is absolutely clear, bearing an unmistakable resemblance to its big brother the Ducati Streetfighter V4. The powerplant is an all new 90 degree V2 engine.

Upright riding position, wide handlebar and road-oriented chassis modifications.

Concept

Ergonomics, more comfort, more control

In keeping with streetfighter culture

Just looking at it you can immediately tell it’s a Streetfighter. It has a completely new front, with a headlight equipped with DRL and lines loaded on the front, typically Streetfighter. The tank and tail are obviously those of the Panigale V2 and the riding position is aggressive, but not uncomfortable.
Thanks to its lightness and the performance of the new Ducati twin-cylinder engine, this bike is a real fun bike thanks to the low-end torque for maximum fun everytime you open the throttle on the exit of a corner. The Streetfighter V2 with 178 kg is the lightest in the segment.

Design

Ego Booster

The Panigale V2, stripped of its fairings.

Starting from the chassis of the Panigale V2, the swingarm has been lengthened by +30mm / +1.2in. This is to ensure stability and greater load on the front while the suspensions, the same as the Panigale V2, have a dedicated calibration to provide great riding pleasure on the road. To ensure maximum precision and stability of the front end,the Streetfighter V2 comes standard with a Sachs steering damper. The wheels, tires, and brakes are the same as those of the Panigale V2.

Engine

New Middleweight V2 Engine

890 cc, 120 hp, 93.3 Nm

It is called V2 and it is the new V2 engine that sets a new benchmark among Ducati 90° V2 engines for compactness, low weight, smoothness, low fuel consumption and emissions, in addition to a wide powerband and a fully exploitable maximum power level. It is a V2 of 90° of 890cc displacement, 96mm of bore and 61,5mm of stroke, equipped with the variable valve timing system of the intake valves that incompliance with the Euro5+ regulation, delivers a maximum power of 120hp@10,750rpm, while the torque is 93.3Nm@8,250rpm. Reduced weight, fuel consumption and emissions in comparison to the previous Superquadro engine.

Intake variable valve timing system
Valve train with finger followers and springs
Intake valves with hollow stem
Weight 54.5kg/120lb (-9.4kg/-21lb1)

The torque is generous at low revs:
More than 70% of the maximum  torque is already available at 3,000rpm.
More than 80% of the torque is always available between 4,000 rpm and 11,000 rpm, which guarantees prompt response at every opening of the throttle, for maximum enjoyment both in everyday use and on the track.

Ergonomics

Aggressive ergonomics

Yet not uncomfortable

The Streetfighter V2 provides sporty comfort in urban and open roads and total control at high speed and on the track.

Rider triangle designed to provide sporty comfort and total control at high speed and on the track.

Rider footpegs and handle bar are dedicated components to aim a sport riding position typical of a naked bike.

The handlebar is made in aluminum with a variable section.

The seat’s 837mm/33in height ensures easy reach to the ground.

Like that of the new Panigale V2, the ergonomic fuel tank helps the rider in braking and  “hanging off” phases especially when riding on the racetrack.

Chassis

Frame, Suspension

Wheels & Tyres

The Streetfighter V2 shares with Panigale V2 the new chassis architecture whose every component is optimized with the aim of minimizing its weight. Main modifications are related to swingarm length and suspension setting. Both versions of the Streetfighter V2 are equipped with a Sachs steering damper.

Mainframe:
Aluminium Monocoque mainframe (weight4kg/8.8lb)with the engine as a structural member of the frame.

Swingarm:
Cast aluminium double sided swingarm
Lightweight gravity-cast aluminum structure
New Panigale V4 inspired external hollow design
Length: 574mm/22.6in (+30mm/+1.2invsPanigaleV2)

The purpose?
To move weight over the front end for extra stability. Creating great front-end stability despite it being a naked model.

Electronics

Ingenious Rider Aids

Producing the safest of environments
