Desert Sled – Fun Everywhere
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled takes its styling from 1960's off road machines. These were bikes that were stripped to their bare essentials and used to tear up the desert in the USA.
The Scrambler Desert Sled is by no means a full on Enduro but it truly does have real off road capability. The front forks are 46mm long travel fully adjustable upside down forks. The rear shock is Kayaba unit with adjustment for both rebound and pre-load.
Not only have Ducati upgraded the suspension of the Desert Sled they have also reinforced the frame and the swing arm to cope with the huge forces of off road riding.
Wheels and tyres are also different from standard models with a 19'' gold front spoked wheel and 17'' spoked rear fitted with the latest Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres that give outstanding grip on a huge range of surfaces.
Body work has been beefed up also with alloy bash guard to help protect the sump, a head light grill as well as alloy braced handle bars. The Scrambler Desert Sled is fitted with a unique ribbed seat to give the rider total control in all conditions.
There's high front and rear extended mud guards to finish off the rugged off road look whilst also protecting the rider from flying debris. All in all Ducati have produced a most versatile variation of the Scrambler in the Desert Sled. Bigger bike, huge presence.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is available in both Red and White.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled mounts the EURO 4-compliant, twin-cylinder 803 cm3 air and oil-cooled engine taken from the Icon. Together with the new homologation comes a new throttle control and an all-new engine calibration that has made power delivery even smoother, especially at the bottom end of the rev range.
Equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, the twin-cylinder Desmodue engine on the Scrambler has been designed to favour smooth running and fluid acceleration throughout the rev range, delivering 75 hp at 8,250 rpm and a torque of 68 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Designed to be simple and accessible, just like the Ducati Scrambler itself, it also features 12,000 km (7,500 miles) maintenance intervals.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled mounts a Brembo braking system featuring a Bosch 9.1 MP ABS system with pressure sensor. Combining maximum stopping performance with minimalist styling, the front wheel has a single 330 mm disc (a good 5 mm thick) and a 4-piston Brembo M4.32B monobloc caliper with radial attachment. This decision to mount a powerful single-disc front braking system was taken to leave a clear view on the right side of the wheel. At the back, instead, a 245 mm disc is gripped by a caliper with a 32 mm diameter piston.
