Overview

The Middleweight Fight Formula

New Ducati super naked twin

The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 has been born. The true streetfighter pedigree is absolutely clear, bearing an unmistakable resemblance to its big brother the Ducati Streetfighter V4. The powerplant is an updated version of the Panigale V2 engine with gearbox modifications. 1st & 2nd gear are closer ratio and 6th gear has been made taller, thus ensuring that the initial punch from take off is more exciting than ever whilst allowing the engine revs to be dropped at upper end speeds. Compared to the Streetfighter V4, the riding position of the Ducati Streetfighter V2 has been relaxed somewhat with the handlebars being raised and brought slightly back. A more comfortable seat and a bit more leg room makes this a great choice for an everyday bike.

Concept

Ergonomics, more comfort, more control

In keeping with streetfighter culture

Compared to the Panigale V2, the riding position – with an above-ground height of 845 mm – has been redefined as per the specifications of a naked model. In keeping with streetfighter culture, the semi-handlebars have been replaced by a high, wide bar that, together with a moderated footpeg position, ensures sports-style comfort during inner city rides and the control needed to tackle country roads or racetracks. While maintaining many of the Panigale’s stylistic features, the tail is supported by a steel subframe and has been redesigned to enhance passenger comfort and give the rider more lengthways space.

Design

Ego Booster

The Panigale V2, stripped of its fairings.

The Panigale V2, stripped of its fairings and with high, wide handlebars. This, in short, is the underlying concept of the new Ducati Streetfighter V2, a bike that magnifies the thrill of the ride every time it takes to the road. The result? An unrivalled naked bristling with cutting-edge technology and an awe-inspiring design that oozes pure performance. The swingarm has been extended by some 16mm to aid stability with it’s more upright riding position. The Streetfighter V2, unlike it’s V4 counterpart does not come as standard with wings. Worry not…. these are available as an accessory in either plastic or carbon fibre.

Engine

High Power Middleweight V2

955cc, 153 hp, 101 Nm

The new Ducati Streetfighter V2 is powered by a 955 cm3 Desmodromic Superquadro engine. In this configuration the 90° V2 delivers 152.7hp , an unrivalled power level within the naked mid-segment, perfectly in keeping with the all-out character of the new Streetfighter V2. Maximum torque is 101 Nm, practically unchanged with respect to the Panigale V2. Dedicated engine mapping lets riders safely make the most of Streetfighter V2 performance on the road. Power can be raised to 157 hp  by fitting the full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovič that also reduces weight considerably

Ergonomics

Rider-centric ergonomics

Ensured rider comfort

The ergonomics centre around the rider and are focused on road use, while also ensuring sportiness and comfort. The high and wide aluminium handlebars replace the handlebar risers of the Panigale V2. The saddle is now wider and has new padding that contributes to making this bike even more comfortable.

In addition, the footpegs have been repositioned to increase the amount of room. All these improvements allow the rider real control during sports riding while also facilitating everyday use.

Chassis

Frame, Suspension

Wheels & Tyres

Monocoque Frame The Superquadro engine is used as a bearing element connecting the compact front structure, consisting of a monocoque frame in die-cast aluminum fixed to the engine head. The single-sided swingarm, which is also connected to the engine, is 16 mm longer compared to that of the Panigale V2, a winning point which contributes to ensure the stability of the whole bike.

Wheels & Tyres The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with five-spoke wheels and the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, size 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear, which provide an ultra-quick response to the rider’s needs and added cornering feeling. Aside from the use of brake pads with a less aggressive bite, more suitable for road use, the entire braking system is lifted from the Panigale V2 and features Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial callipers with 320 mm diameter discs.

Braking System Ducati braking systems are exceptional, and this is also true of the Streetfighter V2, which is equipped with an entirely radial front system (callipers and master cylinder) with M4.32 monobloc callipers that act on a pair of 320 mm discs. The rear system is also manufactured by Brembo and consists of a calliper with two opposing pistons that acts on a 245 mm diameter disc. The brake pads have a less aggressive bite than those of the Panigale V2 for greater effectiveness during road use.

Suspension To this platform are added the 43 mm Showa BPF front fork and the Sachs shock absorber, featuring dedicated calibration to make the bike more comfortable on the road as well as easily adjustable for a whole new dimension of fun on the racetrack.

Electronics

Ingenious Rider Aids

Producing the safest of environments

The modern equipment of pilot assistance controls that equips the Streetfighter V2 is inherited from the Panigale V2. Thanks to the use of the 6-axis inertial platform that instantly detects the angle of roll, yaw and pitch, all controls intervene accurately according to the position of the motion in space. The operating parameters of each control are associated by default with the three Riding Mode (Sport, Road, Wet). The rider is given the ability to customize the level of intervention of the controls or restore the default parameters set by Ducati. The IMU works on 6 axis by measuring the position of the bike in space in real time and sending the information to the control units that manage the electronic controls. All this in order to ensure maximum performance and safety.

The operating parameters of each control are associated by default with the 3 Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Wet).

Cornering ABS, Traction Control EVO 2, Wheelie Control Evo, Up/Down Quick Shift Evo 2, Engine Brake Control and Multimedia Ready.

Lighting

Headlights, Tail Light & Indicators

All full LED....and more

The front light unit features an extremely compact headlight, thanks to the adoption of two dual-function LED modules for low beam and high beam. The Daytime Running Light and the upper thread of the double headlamp make for a frowning look, the modern hallmark of Ducati sports bikes. At the rear, the full LED light is functionally divided into two parts, in line with Ducati sports bike tradition (specifications may vary market by market).

In case of any violent braking, the Ducati Brake Light (DBL) system automatically activates a flashing of the rear light, signalling the sudden deceleration to any vehicles following behind and contributing to the active safety of the vehicle. The double red arc of the positioning light ensures the Streetfighter V2 is unmistakable, as does its aggressive expression. Rounding out the lighting system are LED front and rear turn signals.
