New Versys 1000 along with its top spec SE model are the Kawasaki flagship adventure tourer. As such Kawasaki has equipped vast majority of the tech under their belt on it. With refinements to the engine, added electronic throttle valves, new Bosh inertial measurement unit allowed for a massive amount of new electronic rider assists and features to be added as standard to the new bike. Furthermore, the Versys 1000 receives new styling, centered around the rider but with sharp Kawasaki lines, with aggressive H2 inspired nose, housing two LED headlamps.

Sharp Kawasaki design
Rides as well as it looks.
Main concern when designing the new Versys 1000 was comfort to the rider and passenger. Ergonomics, sitting position, wind protection and the seat shape are all focused to maximise comfort on the globe trotting expeditions this bike is built for. On the other hand, the sharp Ninja H2 inspired styling hint at the more naughty side of the bike.

The 1,043 cc In-line Four used in the superb Kawasaki Z1000 and Ninja 1000SX ranges, tuned for flexibility returns in the new Versys 1000. Superb throttle response and strong torque at all rpm (especially in the low-mid range) which the old model was known for is even better on the new Versys 1000 thanks to electronic throttle valves. Such technology also enabled for the addition of cruise control as standard, making long trips even more comfortable. Kawasaki Quickshifter is available as an optional extra for the standard model.
Brake management
Superbike base
Kawasaki’s supersport-grade high-precision brake management system is standard equipment on the Versys 1000. This is the same base system used on the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-10R, with programming and settings revised to suit the street performance parameters and long-travel suspension of the Versys 1000.

From the twin headlamps and compact LED turn signals to the LED taillight and LED licence plate bulb, the Versys 1000 S offers an all-LED lighting package.
Mounting system
Simplicity in mind
The mounting system for the accessory panniers allows the panniers to be attached and removed very simply, contributing to increased convenience. Seamlessly integrating the panniers with the rear of the bike, the clean-mount system positions the panniers close to the bike centreline, and, thanks to its clean clutter-free design, ensures the rear of the bike still looks good with the panniers removed.
Relaxing ride
Contribution to comfort
Kawasaki’s cruise control system allows a desired speed to be maintained with the simple press of a button. Once activated, the rider does not have to constantly apply the throttle. This reduces stress on the right hand when traveling long distances, enabling relaxed cruising and contributing to a high level of riding comfort.
