Overview

The Science of Speed

Track riding to the next level for amateurs and pros alike.

The 2027  Ducati Panigale V4 SP is the most serious trackday tool that Ducati have built to date. Although strongly based on the Panigale V4 S, a series of refinements make for a lighter, more agile chassis making the bike faster not just on individual laps but over entire timed sessions. The very lightweight Carbon rims that save some 3.4 kilos of unsprung weight over the standard bike rims play a big part in reducing these lap times. How? – Reductions of inertia through the wheels of some 26% front and 46% rear have this bike turning on a sixpence. Over and above the V4 S, the Aero Pack provides enhanced airflow protection and improves overall vehicle stability, enhancing confidence. Utilising both the enhanced B-Plane wings on the latest WSB as well as the fairing sidepods that truly reduce lateral slide on fast cornering. The Front Frame, instead, modifies stiffness to give better front-end ‘feel’ at extreme lean angles. Ducati and Ducati Corse engineers have crunched the feedback/data numbers from customers all over the world and Superbike World Championship events. Their analysis has led to a series of aerodynamic, chassis, electronic control and Ride by Wire mapping changes: designed to increase stability and turn-in speed, these changes make it easier to close corners and ensure riders enjoy more confident throttle control.

Concept

How much better?

Built according to Ducati Corse specifications.

Further changes on the Ducati Panigale V4 SP over and above the V4 S model are considerable. The dry clutch that is just exceptional at getting the bike off the line in the shortest time possible. Rider refinements such as remote adjusters on both front brake and clutch that allow for easy rolling adjustments to be made. The latest Brembo Hypure callipers, strong enough to bury the front wheel into the ground and some beautifully engineered fully adjustable rider footrests to tune the chassis perfectly to the rider. Along with the carbon wheels, each of these enhancements add more than their weight in worth. Put together, the alteration to the characteristics of this bike are just unbelievable. The new SP livery simply makes it look everything that it is – A stylish aggressive track missile.

Design

Aero Fairing by Ducati Corse

Plexiglas screen, nose fairing and larger lateral fairings, more efficient lateral vents for radiator through-air and Aerofoils

Co-developed by Ducati Corse and the Ducati Style Center, the Ducati Panigale V4 SP aerodynamics package now mirrors that of the Panigale V4 R. The result; fairings that – in true Panigale style – meet official Ducati Superbike requirements in full. As in MotoGP, aerodynamic development involved a series of preliminary CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) studies, followed by optimisation on a full-scale wind tunnel model. The Plexiglas screen – higher and more angled – provides better airflow protection for riders, especially in the helmet and upper shoulder areas. The screen works in concert with a new nose fairing that is higher and wider (+15 mm per side) in the arm-shield zone to reduce arm and shoulder-induced drag on the straights. The lateral fairings have been widened considerably (+38 mm per side) with the dual aim of reducing on-rider airflow impact and maximising aerofoil efficiency.

Engine

New changes for top performances

Specially developed Ride by Wire system mappings with several torque delivery control settings.

The heart of the Panigale V4 SP is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale of MotoGP origin: a V4 with counter-rotating crankshaft equipped with a lot of torque from low revs and capable of expressing the racing soul of the bike on the track.

For 2027, the Desmosedici Stradale has improved with the introduction of dedicated technical elements, which have made it possible to increase power and improve throttle response. The Euro 5+ version engine delivers 218 hp at 13,500 rpm.

Chassis

Advanced Suspension system

Power is nothing without control

The chassis of the Panigale V4 SP has an aluminium front frame that uses the Desmosedici Stradale as a stressed member. The aluminium swingarm and the seat post in shell-cast aluminium are directly connected to the engine. The pivot of the swingarm is positioned in such a way as to increase the anti-squat effect, which is the reduction of the sinking of the rear when exiting corners and when reopening the throttle, thus stabilizing the bike in acceleration.

The suspension system features an electronically controlled 125 mm travel Öhlins NPX25 / 30 pressurized fork at the front that uses a pressurized cartridge damping system derived from that of racing forks.

Performance

Carbon Wheels

Reducing inertia by an unbelievable degree

Further enhancing the performance on the track and the dynamic qualities of the Panigale V4, the “SP” version is equipped with high-quality 5-split spoke carbon wheels, 1.4 kg lighter than the aluminium forged ones of the Panigale V4 S.

The carbon rims* guarantee a significant reduction in inertia (-26% at the front, -46% at the rear) to the benefit of agility, lightness in direction changes and greater ease in closing the curves. The Panigale V4 SP3 is also equipped with exclusive Brembo Hypure front brake calipers, which guarantee the highest of braking power.

Livery

Aggressive look with the Winter Test Livery

As Italian as it comes

The Panigale V4 SP is characterized by the special “Winter Test” livery, in which the matt black of the fairings is combined with the matt carbon finish of the rims and wings, contrasting with the bright red accents and the brilliance of the exposed brushed aluminium tank.

The wings with double profile are all about function. The lower part of the fairing is distinguished by the presence of the bulging side pods that again, are all about thr function of providing grip.

Electronics

New Track Evo TFT Dash

Electronic Controls Honed to Perfection

TFT Dashboard
All the electronic parameters of the bike can be clearly visualized thanks to the dashboard and to the “Track Evo” display mode, derived from the one used in MotoGP. In this screen, the tachometer moves on a horizontal scale positioned in the highest part of the instrument, or the most visible, and the indication of the gear engaged is in the centre of the screen.

Electronic Controls
The Panigale V4 SP is equipped with an electronic package of the latest generation based on the use of a 6-axis inertial platform that can instantly detect the roll, yaw and pitch angle of the bike in space. The electronic package includes controls that manage all phases of driving; whose operating parameters are linked by default to the 4 Riding Modes (Race A, Race B, Sport, Street).

SP Transmission

No undesired Neutrals!

Welcome to the new "Race " Gearbox.

This is the first time we see this option on a non race homologated Ducati.
The Ducati “Race” transmission.

This puts Neutral at the base position instead of between 1st and 2nd. i.e. Conventional gearbox 1-N-2-3-4-5-6. Ducati Race gearbox N-1-2-3-4-5-6.

Before Neutral can be selected, a lever has to be depressed on the handlebars.

No more undesired neutrals!!
