This 1986 Yamaha RD500 LC as mentioned above has had some serious money, time, and passion put into its build. The previous owner has always had 2-strokes, dating back to the 80s where he fell in love with them. Thanks to working for a local Yamaha dealer in the late 80s, he has extensive knowledge on these bikes.
As mentioned above, the full detail of the restoration is available in store, however just to list a few of the itmes carried out: Mikuni internals, fairings repainted, all engine covers stone enamelled, rebore to 0.50, race heads and the frame was vapour blasted and wet sprayed. The bike has covered 0 miles since its extensive restoration.
During the build, the collector had also been posting various updates via social media, and being as thorough as the resoration was, it even caught the attention of Valentino Rossi’s chief mechanic, Alex Briggs. Having worked with arguably the best MotoGP rider of all time, , for him to be impressed by this build, is astounding.
