The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled takes its styling from 1960's off road machines. These were bikes that were stripped to their bare essentials and used to tear up the desert in the USA.
The Scrambler Desert Sled is by no means a full on Enduro but it truly does have real off road capability. The front forks are 46mm long travel fully adjustable upside down forks. The rear shock is Kayaba unit with adjustment for both rebound and pre-load.
Not only have Ducati upgraded the suspension of the Desert Sled they have also reinforced the frame and the swing arm to cope with the huge forces of off road riding.
Wheels and tyres are also different from standard models with a 19'' gold front spoked wheel and 17'' spoked rear fitted with the latest Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres that give outstanding grip on a huge range of surfaces.
Body work has been beefed up also with alloy bash guard to help protect the sump, a head light grill as well as alloy braced handle bars. The Scrambler Desert Sled is fitted with a unique ribbed seat to give the rider total control in all conditions.
There's high front and rear extended mud guards to finish off the rugged off road look whilst also protecting the rider from flying debris. All in all Ducati have produced a most versatile variation of the Scrambler in the Desert Sled. Bigger bike, huge presence.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is available in both Red and White.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled mounts the EURO 4-compliant, twin-cylinder 803 cm3 air and oil-cooled engine taken from the Icon. Together with the new homologation comes a new throttle control and an all-new engine calibration that has made power delivery even smoother, especially at the bottom end of the rev range.
Equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, the twin-cylinder Desmodue engine on the Scrambler has been designed to favour smooth running and fluid acceleration throughout the rev range, delivering 75 hp at 8,250 rpm and a torque of 68 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Designed to be simple and accessible, just like the Ducati Scrambler itself, it also features 12,000 km (7,500 miles) maintenance intervals.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled mounts a Brembo braking system featuring a Bosch 9.1 MP ABS system with pressure sensor. Combining maximum stopping performance with minimalist styling, the front wheel has a single 330 mm disc (a good 5 mm thick) and a 4-piston Brembo M4.32B monobloc caliper with radial attachment. This decision to mount a powerful single-disc front braking system was taken to leave a clear view on the right side of the wheel. At the back, instead, a 245 mm disc is gripped by a caliper with a 32 mm diameter piston.

We have a skeleton staff re-booking cancelled jobs and new enquiries received by email during lockdown, processing online orders and handing over bikes (whilst distancing) that were purchased before lockdown. Our workshop is running albeit at a reduced level of manpower (to enable social distancing) and is solidly booked for well over 5 weeks so please expect delays in booking availability. Orders can now be placed online (although we would suggest you wait till our Brand New website which be launched imminently) and via email for bikes or product, however not all our suppliers are up and running yet so there could be a short wait. We will keep you informed.
Phones are on and off at present, but you can contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for service enquiries, email@example.com for parts, accessory and clothing enquiries, firstname.lastname@example.org for all bike enquiries and email@example.com for anything else.
Opening the shop
The shop is open now, initially on a "by appointment" basis. For now, these can be booked by email however, The phones are back on however if needed on a part time basis to allow our reduced team to process enquiries as they come in.
Please email Tony at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01508 471919 (Option 1) supplying your telephone number so that we can call you to discuss, along with the details of the bike that you are interested in.
ALL New Website to assist in distance purchasing:
We have during closure been working very hard to complete our new website which is aimed to make remote transactions much easier. In excess of 10,000 product lines will be available for online purchase (Clothing and Accessories) and we have fine-tuned the finance section for new and used bikes that will allow you to play with the figures to get your ideal quote, soft check your credit eligibility without harming your credit rating and make a full application for finance all within the website. Once agreed we are now able to offer remote finance signing reducing your time in the shop at collection point. We hope to have the new website live on June 1st. (This is a last-minute rush. Please let us know if you encounter any issues on the new site - email@example.com).
