Ducati 959 Panigale – The perfect balance

The Ducati 959 Panigale is not only cleaner thanks to it's Euro 4 emissions compliance but makes more power and torque just where it is needed.

Moving technology forward the Ducati 959 Panigale's chassis has also been modified improving the handling of the bike considerably This technology comes straight from the successes enjoyed on the track.

Bodywork features of the Ducati 959 Panigale are now shared more closely with it's big brother the 1299. A larger frontal area to the fairing ensures that the bike and rider cut through the air with less effort and more rider protection.

The Ducati 959 uses a Monocoque frame and 150HP Superquadro engine, both designed with one thing in mind ‘to save weight’ thus giving unprecedented agility both on road and track.

Unlike any mid sized Ducati before, the 959 Panigale has a whole host of electronic rider aids as standard, only before found on the very highest spec superbikes.

These include Ducati quick shifter (DQS), Engine Brake Control (EBC), Ducati 8 level traction control (DTC), the very latest Bosch 9MP ABS braking system and Full ride by wire throttle (Rbw) with three riding modes -1 Race 2 Sport and 3 Wet.

The Ducati 959 Panigale makes the ideal middleweight Superbike for our Norfolk roads.

Ducati 959 Panigale

Ride Modes

Each riding mode gives a different throttle response as well as altering DTC, EBC and ABS settings. Rain mode also cuts power to 100HP further adding to rider safety giving greater control in harder riding conditions.

Superquadro Engine

Ducati’s latest power plant, the 959 Superquadro, represents another major step forward in twin-cylinder design and technology, generating superb Ducati performance with super smooth power delivery. The new 955cc Superquadro engine delivers 157HP @ 10,500rpm, +9 Hp more than 899 Panigale and a broader torque curve with the peak of 105.6Nm @ 9,000 rpm. This further adds to the 959 ’s ability to dominate the road as well as the track. Not only have Ducati managed to make the all new 959 Panigale a very powerful machine but the Desmodromic, 90° L-twin inherits the 1299’s structural design to enable full integration with the monocoque chassis while boasting an ownership-friendly 24,000km (15,000 miles) between major services.

Panigale 959 Suspension

The 959 is fitted with 43mm USD Showa Big Piston forks (BPF). The Showa BPF enhances damping control at low suspension speeds by flowing more oil at lower pressures and reducing the range over which the damping fluid has to flow during compression and extension. The rear suspension is taken care of by a fully adjustable side-mounted progressive Sachs rear mono-shock.

Brakes

Braking on the Ducati 959 Panigale at the front is twin radially-mounted Brembo, four piston, Monobloc M4-32 calipers actuated by a high performance radial master cylinder. The fronts grip 320mm discs, while a single 245mm disc on the rear is gripped by a single Brembo caliper. Utilising the latest in Bosch ABS technology.

The new Ducati 959 Panigale has gone straight to the top of the supermid section of the motorcycle world.
