Finally, after a month of teasing, we get to see the Kawasaki Ninja H2R, yes 'R' which is not designed for road use but we can forgive that as its supercharged, liquid-cooled 998cc in-line four engine has a “design target of 296bhp”, some 50bhp more than Marc Marquez’s MotoGP-leading Honda RC213V.
Unveiled yesterday at the Intermot Show in Cologne, the response from our customers has been phenomenal. The carbon fibre clad Kawasaki Ninja H2R appears to be everything Kawasaki has promised and more. Kawasaki say the bike is going to “offer intense acceleration and a top speed in a range that most riders never have a chance to experience”
A brand new high tensile steel trellis frame has been developed to keep the bike stable at high speed which is accompanied by the Formula 1 style wings on the aerodynamic fairings, designed by Kawasaki’s Aerospace Company.
The road version won't be producing 296bhp but will have the in-house designed supercharger, we have to wait until 6 November when the Ninja H2 will be unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan. If the H2R is anything to go by, we for one are looking forward to the street version!
