THE KEY TO THE NINJA ZX6R’S ASTONISHING EVOLUTION

Born for performance
The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R for 2007/2008 was designed to put its rider on the top step of the podium or the first to Tesco’s. What Kawasaki’s development team found was needed to enable the new Kawasaki ZX6R to make a huge leap forward in circuit potential was a consummate blend of the power characteristics of a fully tuned 600 Supersport machine and the nimble handling characteristics of a lightweight, small displacement GP-style racer. To incorporate this lightweight-class handling philosophy into the new ZX6R, Kawasaki appointed a former 125cc WGP racer as the Ninja ZX6R’s chief development rider.
The results?
A meaty mile-wide powerband. Cornering prowess previously unseen in the middleweight class and a man-machine synchronicity that yields instantaneous response to the rider’s slightest command.
Then Kawasaki loaded in features usually reserved for their limited-edition Ninja ZX6RR. More so than any Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R or ZX6RR to date, this evolution represents Kawasaki’s ideal 600cc-class circuit machine and with the huge midrange power availability it is ideal for our twisting UK roads. The ultimate middleweight track tool, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R sets the standard to follow in 2007.

Featuring an all-new engine.
Completely redesigned from the cases up for the first time in ten years and all-new chassis, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R was designed to dominate on the track and be more exciting to ride than anything else in its category. The Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja — a pure expression of Kawasaki’s racing philosophy.

Super-Responsive Power Across The Rev Range
To be quick around a racetrack a bike needs a wide powerband with plenty of over-rev. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R ’s all-new ultra-high-rpm engine with a redline of 16,500 rpm churns out way more mid-range torque than its predecessors. The result is a nice fat powerband with a linear power curve, for hard-hitting acceleration across the rev range. Like a true racebike, the Kawasaki ZX6R ’s over-rev characteristics are equally impressive, allowing riders to stay on the gas longer, while weaker bikes are forced to shift. Other racing technology includes a close-ratio cassette transmission that makes it easy to keep the Ninja ZX6R screaming at peak efficiency.

High Cornering Speed — The Secret To A Quick Lap Time
In designing the Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R’s chassis, the development team concentrated on creating a chassis that allows high corner entry and mid-corner speed. Like a bike with much smaller displacement, the Ninja ZX6R’s compact, lightweight chassis allows it to maintain its cornering speed throughout the turn — this is what makes it so quick. Cornering speed control is further enhanced by a perfectly balanced combination of slipper clutch and powerful radial-mounted brake calipers. Complementing this thoroughbred package are fully adjustable front and rear suspension units.

All-New, Ultra-Compact, Low-Friction Engine
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R ’s all-new engine was specially designed for ultra-low friction. Low friction engines deliver highly responsive throttle control, making it easier for riders to adjust their speed and line while cornering. To reduce frictional loss, engine components were made stronger, stiffer and more compact. The resulting engine is about 40 mm smaller in width and length than its predecessors. This compact engine contributes significantly to the Ninja ZX6R’s overall slim and compact chassis.

Rider-Responsive Chassis
The frame and swingarm were developed with an ideal stiffness balance, so the Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R responds instantly and precisely to the rider’s every command. Mass centralisation, engine mount locations and a variety of other factors were optimized to ensure lag-free turn-in characteristics. Like those of a lightweight-class racebike, the frame headstock and engine crankshaft move as a single unit when changing direction, eliminating any sense of hesitation. Once in the turn, the Ninja ZX6R holds a line with precision and tracks through corners as if on rails.
Feedback is very detailed, with the bike communicating its every move directly to the rider. The machine responds precisely and predictably to rider control inputs and shifts in body weight, resulting in a chassis that makes the rider feel like a part of the machine.

The new Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R offers the power of a high-performance 600 mated with the nimble handling characteristics of a small-displacement racer. A combination that raises middleweight supersport performance to a new level.

Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja 2008 UK Specifications and further features:

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Fuel Injection
* Shorter throttle bodies deliver improved over-rev characteristics, while smaller diameter bores offer more torque in the mid-range. Ultra-fine atomising injectors improve combustion efficiency (and consequently fuel efficiency as well).

Pre-chamber Equipped Under-seat Muffler
* A pre-chamber located below the Kawasaki ZX6R ‘s engine feeds a compact and lightweight under-seat silencer, a layout which improves mass centralisation. The redesigned exhaust header pipes contribute to the improved exhaust efficiency.

Dimensions
* Tri-axis crankshaft and transmission shaft layout idealises the engine’s Centre of Gravity, reducing pitching movement during heavy braking and giving the rider accurate chassis feedback. By reducing the amount of front/rear weight transfer, the loads on the suspension and tyres are reduced, giving more freedom when adjusting suspension settings.

Suspension
* New, fully adjustable inverted fork locates the main spring at the bottom of the fork. Because the spring is completely submerged in oil, cavitation is minimised, resulting in giving the Kawasaki ZX6R stable suspension performance even under the demanding conditions of the circuit.or twisting country lanes.
* New rear suspension system features a pillow ball upper mount in place of the earlier bushings for a more direct feel and improved feedback.

Aerodynamics
* Compact projector beam headlights contribute to the aerodynamic front cowl and a reduced frontal area. The new Ram Air duct is small but highly efficient. The small under-seat silencer allows the tail section to be made narrower and more aerodynamically efficient. This new design is the most aerodynamically efficient of any Kawasaki Ninja available today.

Gear Position Sensor
* In the heat of battle, even racers occasionally lose track of what gear they’re in. The convenient gear position sensor gives instant information to the rider.
