The Kawasaki ZRX1200R is a muscle bike if ever there was one. The tuning of the engine concentrates power in the low and mid range rpm areas. The 4-1 exhaust system is designed to enhance the upper rev range power. No matter what revs are used, the Kawasaki ZRX1200R will pull and then pull some more.
The highly efficient carburettors not only supply fuel to the bike but by means of an electronic throttle position switch allow the Kawasaki ZRX1200R 's engine management system to advance or retard ignition dependant on the engines revs and the riders throttle demands. This gives crisp throttle response throughout.
All of this is built within the tubular steel double cradle frame with alloy underbraced swingarm that gives the Kawasaki ZRX1200R its predictable and very rigid chassis.
The styling of the Kawasaki ZRX1200R goes back to the days of "Eddie Lawson", but don't be fooled, that is where the similarities stop. The engineering, geometry and handling of this yesteryear look alike are very different to its predecessors. The cockpit faring does reduce wind pressure but in truth is more a cosmetic enhancement.
Offering the classic quite upright riding position, the Kawasaki ZRX1200R is comfortable for one or two. The large and well padded seat is reassuringly (for the pillion at least) surrounded at the rear by two well placed cast alloy grab rails.
The 6 piston calipers along with the 310mm front discs work progressively, are very capable indeed and will bring the ZRX1200R to a stop in no time at all.
Here in Norfolk we use the Kawasaki ZRX1200R to pull ploughs.
