kAWASAKI z1000 2013
(zr1000-dcf)

In 2010, Kawasaki introduced the Z1000, for 2013 it's been given new livery. This bike has been so well recieved by the press - they love it !!
When we say 'new' we mean it. A new engine, a new chassis, the list goes on..............
The new and improved 2013 Kawasaki Z1000 takes aggressive styling a huge leap forward from its predecessor. From the sharply designed front headlight design made possible by the new slim line-beam headlamp, to the sharp lines of the tail section, the machine presents a very clean-cut line image. The stylish front fork covers and wide boy shrouds showing the intakes for the new Cool Air system reinforce this superb “new look”.
The all-new aluminium twin-tube frame was designed for the Kawasaki Z1000. This twin-tube frame is very similar in concept to the Kawasaki ZX10R Ninja; the frame tubes go over the engine, allowing the bike to have a narrow overall construction that then makes the bike easy to grip with your knees for added control.
The Liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve 1,043 cm3 In-line four offers a greater power delivery and stronger torque curve than the previous Z1000 models.
The new 5-spoke cast wheels complement the bike's sharp design. The spokes are machined near the rim edge, adding to the high-quality appearance. The machined cutouts were purposely designed to point in the reverse direction, a design element also visible on the new engine covers.
The Cool Air system allows a lot of cool air to the air box from the new exposed air ducts either side of the fuel tank, minimising performance loss due to heated intake air. This should not be confused with Ram Air, where force-fed air becomes pressurised in the air box. Positioning the air-ducts up close and personal to the rider, allows the intake sound to be enjoyed to the max by you as you ride.
With the addition of the new compression damping adjustability, the bikes’ 41 mm inverted front forks can now be fully adjusted. The vast array of settings offers both a sports and comfortable feeling as you ride of into the sunset.
The new position of the rear suspension places the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm. This locates the suspension well away from the exhaust so any heat will not affect the shock operation. The new arrangement contributes to mass centralisation. Visible from the outside, the Horizontal Back-link helps the cutting edge look and styling of the new Kawasaki Z1000. The new rear suspension eliminates the external reservoir tank, however performance is the same if not better than that of the previous models.
The fully digital clock features an eye-catching orange lens. The clocks can be tilted to suit your height and preference. You can choose from three different positions. The angle can very easily be changed without any tools needed via an adjusting knob on the left side. The meter functions include digital speedometer, bar-style digital tachometer, odometer, two trip meters, fuel gauge and clock.
At the front they have 4-piston radial-mount callipers to grip the bike’s new 300 mm petal brake discs. Radial-pump front brake master cylinders also contribute to the superb control and feel offered by the new callipers. The rear brake features a single piston calliper gripping onto a 250 mm petal disc.
The twin outlet mufflers on both sides maintain a key design element from previous models. The stubbier GP style exhaust design (each 2/3 the volume of the 09MY model) allows the new 5-spoke rear wheel silhouette to be seen.
LED taillight design gives of a hi visible shine to other road users. Keeping this design is reminiscent of the original Kawasaki Z1000’s features.
