The Kawasaki Z1000 for 2006 is now available in gunmetal silver, a new matt electric blue and black
This motorcycle has carved a new class of its own. Based directly off the back of the well proven ZX9R, the frame geometry is that of a sports bike, with the ZX9 engine bored out to 1000cc it is given even more mid range.
The riding position however is quite upright with Motocross style handlebars that give the Kawasaki Z1000 the agility to take you off the "A" roads, past the "B" roads and onto the country twisties. It is a pleasure to ride sedately however is extremely capable when pushed to further limits.
The best description we can give it is that the Kawasaki Z1000 is "an overgrown supermotard". That has the comfort and grunt to cover distances without fatigue.
Although practically a naked bike, the cockpit fairing with small screen deflects the wind over both rider and pillion admirably at legal speed limits (and between the two of us at greater speeds too!). The instrument panel of the Z1000 gives a digital speedo reading whilst the revs are displayed in an analogue fashion around the outer perimeter of the clock face
The 4-2-4 polished stainless exhaust system not only give the Kawasaki Z1000 a very distinctive look but helps build on the already plentiful midrange power that the engine delivers.
