A Steet Fighter with Guts!!

The Z1000 in standard trim was great..........With a full system and a setup it got more agressive.

20% More at 5500 Rpm!!

This bike was standard when it arrived. We were after a bit more top end power but more importantly beefier mid range power and torque......... We were in for a surprise!!

What did we fit? ....... We fitted an exhaust system, K&N filter and a Power Commander.

Akrapovic Full System: Apart from the fact that the system flows so much better than the stock exhaust system, it is substantially lighter. In Akrapovic's true style this unit was a dream to fit. It is a precision made tool that bolts into place without so much of a sign of a pry bar....or worse.
This was a full race system although there is also one available with a removable baffle. Top Noise !!

K&N High flow Air Filter :
To compliment the increased flow of exhaust gases we fitted a K&N high flow filter (These filters are fully serviceable and should never need replacing).

Dynojet Power Commander:
Well, we've let more air through the combustion chamber, but to date no
bike can adjust its own fuel to compensate. This is why we fit a power Commander that allows us to optimise fueling thus releasing the power increases that the other modifications offer. Please note we use the word optimise as in many areas of the fuel map we will reduce fuel injection durations.
It allows us not only to help the other parts work to their full potential but also gives us the opportunity to make the bike more tractable, rideable and far smoother low down in the rev range. It also ensures that it does not run weak thus protecting valves etc from burning out.

The Results:
Just look at the Torque chart to see if we achieved what we were aiming for. The mid range release of torque and power is awesome. We also got good top end power gains but more importantly got rid of all lull's and hesitations that the bike suffered low down. The mid range gains definately made this beast feel more agressive. And that is waht Street Fighters are all about. 10/10 to Akrapovic.
