KAWASAKI 2012 versys 1000

The very popular Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a bigger brother for 2012 the new Kawasaki Versys 1000.

The Kawasaki Versys 1000 uses a 1043cc liquid cooled DOHC inline four cylinder engine from the already tried and tested Z1000 and Z1000 SX range. The engine is however tuned for better low-mid range torque and a superb throttle response through out the rev range.

To complement the engine very clever electronics and fuel injection systems are also fitted to the Kawasaki Versys 1000. With two riding power modes, One ‘full’ power mode and then a second power mode offering 75% of the power to help the rider on loose or wet road surfaces.

Also fitted to the new Versys 1000 is a new version of Kawasaki’s traction control system (KTRC and SKTRC) this system on the new Versys 1000 offers three modes. Mode one and two offer the maximum acceleration like the SKTRC fitted to the current ZX10R and mode three offering the rider safety and confidence on wet and or loose surfaces like the KTRC system fitted on the GTR 1400.

Additionally this all-new Kawasaki Versys 1000 comes fitted as standard with the latest high spec anti-lock braking system (ABS).

The Kawasaki Versys 1000 utilises an aluminium twin tube frame with new KYB 43mm inverted front forks that are adjustable for both rebound and preload damping. The horizontal back link rear suspension is fitted with an easily accessible remote preload adjuster so the bike can be quickly set up for one or two people, with or without luggage. The rear suspension is also adjustable for rebound damping.

This suspension along with the sporty 17” wheels and Pirelli scorpion tyres make the Kawasaki Versys 1000 a very good tool for all riding types from fast mountain roads to motorways and loose gravel tracks.

With the new Kawasaki Versys 1000 every effort has been focused on rider and pillion comfort. The screen that can be adjusted in a matter of seconds by hand offers great wind protection to riders of all builds.

The seat is thickly padded for both rider and pillion so you can rack up hundreds of miles at a time.

Thanks to the huge 21 litre fuel tank and clever electronics this bike has an enormous fuel range. To assist, the LCD display will indicate when maximum fuel efficiency is being achieved as with the current GTR 1400.

A large number of genuine accessories are available for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 including colour coded 35 litre panniers and 47 litre top case to add even more to the bikes ability to go touring.

The new Kawasaki Versys 1000 has been made not only as a new entry to the big adventure bike sector but to be top of this sector with traditional Kawasaki build quality.
